So we all know that Firefox rulz, but I suspect many users aren’t taking advantage of its extensions.
The other day I discovered the Tab Mix Plus extension and I don’t know how I lived without it. It makes redundant four other extensions I was using (FLST, miniT, SessionSaver and Tabbrowser Preferences) and does much more besides. Pretty much anything you might want to do with tabs, this extension enables. Do yrself a favour and install it (and uninstall the other ones I mentioned, if you have them). It takes a while to work out all the options, but it’s well worth it.
Other essential extensions are:
Adblock Plus with Adblock Filterset.G Updater
ConQuery with Mycroft plugins
CustomizeGoogle.
The rest of my currently installed extensions – all recommended:
abcTajpu
ColorZilla
DictionarySearch
Download Manager Tweak
Extended Cookie Manager
Fasterfox
Forecastfox
GooglePreview
Html Validator
JustBlogIt
Linkification
MeasureIt
Menu Editor
mid
MR Tech Local Install
NoScript

SmoothWheel

zoomFox
Are there any other Firefox extensions that you’d recommend?
Note that by far the most popular Firefox extension, Flashgot, I don’t use. That’s because I don’t use an external download manager (just the default FF one). I don’t see the need, since I’m on fast broadband, and generally use p2p (which has auto resume) for downloading large files. Also some of my favourite websites don’t like (or allow) download managers/accelerators. It’s a shame Flashgot doesn’t work with the FF download manager (or that those features aren’t incorporated in it) as some of them would be useful, such as the ability to automatically save all links on a page.
Perhaps we’ll discuss Thunderbird extensions another time…
