An interesting critique of Cultural Studies at Posthegemonic Musings. (via archive : s0metim3s) the Foxtel news channel which this morning decided that complete live coverage of Telstra CEO Sol Trujillo’s speech (full of vacuous American corporate jargon and platitudes, and containing the bright idea of sacking 12,000 workers, as well as the ludicrous claim that Telstra would beat Google in the search engine business) was more important than coverage of the Australia-wide protests against IR changes. I was tearing my hair out waiting for a morsel of news of the protests. It eventually arrived, after Trujillo had finished his interminable presentation. I don’t s’pose the fact that Telstra is a part-owner of Foxtel had anything to do with this? Nor the political views of Foxtel’s other owners, Murdoch and Packer? NSA for Kids! and my favourite: Center for Disease Control – for Kids! Thanks US Govt! Why isn’t Australia doing this? ASIO for Kids? DSD for Kids? And how about Echelon for Kids?
