Kinda. It’s part of the panoramic view of Wollongong from Mount Keira lookout, where today I had the pleasure of lunch with Warren Burt, James Gardner, Julian Knowles, Greg Schiemer and Catherine Schieve.
It was the first time I’d been to Wollongong Uni and I had a lovely time. The campus and particularly the music area feels like my kinda place.
I got the offer this morning – there are still some details to be worked out, but I’m pretty happy. Well Futile is about to become a PhD blog – uh oh!!
Funny – probably my most important high school teacher was the drama teacher, Mr Doctor. The time I spent with his Acting Workshop was real Dead Poets Society stuff, and set me on the path of trusting in art and ideas that has brought me here.
i’d have to say, its one of the nicest places to put a university.. rivalled only in my experience by places like Bennington Vermont…. it’s a pity you can’t see to the left of the frame – looking up that magnificent coastline towards Stanwell Park
Glad to hear it – is that you coming back to earth?

We’ll soon find out if it is going to be…
Yeah – how soon do you find out?

Right on Mr Dr.

Yes the view from that lookout is incredible!
First thing I thought about UoW is that the campus reminds me a bit of ANU, except UoW is closer to the beach, and Sydney.
Well done man…
Been a bit distracted over the last week so only just tripped on back to here the good news.
Congratulations.
